Last year the boys begged me for to get them Hatchimals for Christmas, but try as I might they were sold out everywhere!
So when I was asked if I would be part of the awesome blogger crew who got to review the brand new Hatchimals Surprise I was more than eager to say yes.
This year they've changed things up a bit by adding an amazing surprise in to the mix.
Last night their was a mass un-hatching on twitter by all the bloggers and it was pretty fun to be a part of.
If you missed that and haven't guessed whats inside .... it was TWINS!
we had the purple and blue egg.. |
When the twins first saw the egg they bickered between themselves at who would get the animal inside.
Oscar - 'I'll have it and you can have something else.'
Alex - 'No I think I'll have it and mummy can buy you another one!'
I smiled onwards at them and told them to start the hatching process.
The hatching process was pretty exciting actually, because I knew what was coming I was a bit more keen than the boys. It took about 15 minutes of constant play before the egg decided to hatch.
We all took turns in rubbing its bottom and tilting it when it felt sick.
I had the handy quick start guide to hand to tell the twins what it was feeling and what they had to do.
Every time the Hatchimals knocked the boys faces lit up and the instantly started knocking back.
It was really sweet to see how excited they were.
As the hatching time came nearer the top of the egg became softer, so I encouraged the boys to keep rubbing its bottom as that would help it hatch.
As the egg started to hatch the boys couldn't wait, so they started to give it a helping hand.... probably so they could grab it first before the other one did.
Their faces when they realised there was TWO inside was priceless! (A little video at the end so you can see their joy!)
As soon as they were both out the egg and placed together they started singing 'Hatchy Birthday' to each other.
We hatched boy / girl twins who have been lovingly named;
Alex and Lexy.
Not very original I know, but I'm sure they'll be renamed at some point.
It's really hard to find one toy thats suitable for twins, normally when buying for the twins I have to buy two of one thing, just so they don't fight and of course I end up spending a small fortune.
So the Hatchimals Surprise is perfect for twins, even normal siblings.
This will make the a perfect joint Christmas Present.
