Ru adores Num Noms so was over the moon to see all the new ones.
He was also pretty taken with the magazine and couldn't wait to get the toy camera out of the packaging.

The magazine was packed full of goodies and had lots of activities to do inside.
I'm sure this will be a magazine that Ru will want to buy again and again.
After Ru had finished looking at the mag and playing with the camera he moved on to the Frozen Yogurt Starter Pack RRP £11.95.

In the pack was -
Mango Sherbet,

Along with a tray and spoon.

Ru's favourite was Razzy Froyo.

He then moved on to opening up the Sweet Sampler Lunch Box   RRP £17.99.

Ru was pretty impressed with his brand new collection of Num Noms.

After he had finished unboxing them all, he sat in the lounge for a while playing with them, lining them up and then putting them in his play kitchen then feeding them to me and Jon.
He also enjoyed putting on the lipgloss.

Four Boys In The Wood

We got out the house today by taking the boys off to Dersingham woods.
We love it there, it's become our favourite place to walk the dog and we drive through it twice a week taking Ru to nursery.

We haven't done much this week due to some health issues that I'm trying to deal with, so it was nice to get some fresh air and see they boys running and jumping about in nature.

When we said we're off to the woods today, their first question was.... can we climb trees?
For boys who have never really show much interest in climbing trees it was a bit of a oh where did that come from moment but we said of course!

As soon as they were out the van they went off on a hunt to find the perfect tree to climb.
Noah thought he was doing really well until he turned around and saw that Alex was further up than him.

Even Ru had a go.

After they had finished climbing trees we went off to find the local cows.
They weren't in their usual spot, so it took a little time.
We eventually found them at the bottom of the hill.

They were all pretty desperate to get as close as possible, but within getting a few feet away they decided that was far too close and they ran back up the steps to Daddy.

We did a little bit of fairy hunting and the boys all managed to find at least ten little mushrooms each, unfortunately no fairies this time.

A quick tribe pose before jumping back in the van and heading off to Nana's for a quick dip in the hot-tub.

Fun Summer Holiday Activities The Whole Family Will Enjoy

The summer holidays are here, and it can be difficult to find things to do for the entire six weeks that all the family will enjoy.
Even if you break it up with a holiday somewhere, you’ll still be faced with endless cries of ‘I’m bored!’ and the need to get out of the house.
Rather than focusing on just child-friendly activities, why not try activities that are suitable for the whole family so that parents can have some fun too. Here are some great suggestions for fun summer activities for families.

The new ways to watch films

Inevitably, you’ll be faced with some rainy days, and when the TV becomes too much, or you feel like you just need to escape for a few hours, there’s always the cinema.
Cinema has come a long way in recent years with films being a much more immersive experience.
You can choose from 3D, IMAX, superscreen and even incredible 4DX as a more exciting way to watch a film and make it a more shared experience.
On dry days, you can take a look at outdoor cinema screenings near you that are a great excuse to take a picnic and some blankets and enjoy classic movies outside.

Go-karting

Some of the most fun family activities are the ones that pit you against each other - and go-karting is one of them!
While the kids are still too young to drive, go-karting is a great experience to get them behind the wheel, and it can be fun to race together as a family and enjoy the adrenaline rush.
GoKart tracks often have special deals on during the summer to make it a more affordable activity for the whole family to enjoy. If you’re stuck for kids birthday party ideas too, this is one that goes down well with kids of all ages.

Theme parks

This is another great suggestion for something that the whole family can enjoy, especially as the kids get older and can go on all of the rides.
There are always great vouchers around now for 241 entry so that the cost can be quite minimal, and if you’re armed with the right theme park survival tips, you can make sure you have a great day out together.
If you’re not going on holiday this year, this is a fun way to enjoy your staycation and add some excitement to the summer holidays.

Invest in a paddling pool

Paddling pools are great for both kids and adults, and they have caused a bit of a stir after supermarkets begun slashing their paddling pool prices.
A paddling pool is a great thing to invest in for the summer and can be brought out whenever the temperatures begin to go up for a fun activity that’s close to home and won’t break the bank.

Plotting out an entire summer holiday full of activities can be difficult, and costly, but there are plenty of other great suggestions for keeping the kids occupied during the summer, that you might want to look at.
Here’s hoping for a great summer filled with good weather and fun!

What is the CAA?

A UK First that Parents Need to Know About

Children’s activities are a valued and much loved feature in the weekly routine for many families countrywide and when attending a structured activity, class or club it is only natural for parents to assume that the organiser is regulated.  But this is not always the case. In fact it is shocking to learn that up until 2 years ago there was no code of practice or even any guidelines in place to monitor standards in the children’s activities sector or to help parents make informed choices regarding the wealth of providers out there.

With so many children engaged in activities throughout the UK each week and the average family investing considerable time and money in clubs and classes, it is truly remarkable that independent guidelines were not in place. Now however, thanks to the Children’s Activities Association (CAA), this alarming gap has been filled. When choosing activities, parents can now easily get peace of mind on a range of important issues such as insurance, health and safety, criminal record checks, training, qualifications, class content and much more just by asking one question – ‘Are you a CAA member?’

Set-up by leading industry experts in 2015, the CAA is a not-for-profit, industry-led independent association that is committed to setting and raising standards in all organised children’s activities across the UK. This ground-breaking national initiative has truly revolutionised the industry and the way that parents can now make choices with their pioneering Code of Practice and an accreditation system (lead by one of the UK’s leading experts in child development, Dr Amanda Gummer PhD) - that parents can trust.

Activity providers joining the CAA commit to the Code of Practice and the very thorough accreditation programme thus clearly demonstrating their drive to deliver the very best for children and their passion for excellence. The CAA brand gives recognition to those providers who excel and gives parents a ‘benchmark’ - the reassurance they need when selecting classes for their little ones from the myriad of providers out there. From baby massage to swimming, gymnastics to crafts and football to yoga, ensuring that the provider is a CAA member is now a very important part of the decision-making process for mums, dads and carers.

The brainchild of the organisation, is Sam Willoughby, multi award-winning business owner and mum who says “I have loved taking my own daughter to many children’s activities since she was a baby, so much so I created online guides and awards back in 2006 to help other parents find activities to enjoy with their kids.  Having worked in this thriving area of business for over a decade I realised that the companies working so hard to deliver excellence for children had no way to get any independent accreditation.  I was in the unique position to bring together leading providers and experts in the field to make this a reality. We have worked hard to develop a relevant Code of Practice and robust accreditation process and so now for the first time parents can feel confident making informed decisions when making their choices’.

Thanks to the CAA, parents don’t have to ask dozens of questions any more when considering an activity for their kids  – simply checking whether the provider is CAA accredited will give them the peace of mind they need - and with more than 200,000 children attending a CAA member class every week, there’s something for everyone.

About the CAA:

A first in the UK, the CAA is a not-for-profit organisation of children's activity providers and experts. The organisation gives parents a bench-mark for all organised children's activities by establishing and improving consistent standards & accreditation.
