In The Kitchen With Ru-Bear || Cake Pops!

I know on my last baking post I promised a twin bake off but getting a spare minute with the twins since they started school has been a bit tricky.
They'll come home hyper and be uncontrollable for half an hour then they'll crash.

So yesterday when the baking urge hit me I decided Ru could be my handy helper.

There was no need to even pop to the shops as I had everything I needed in the house already!
I used my no fail cupcake batter recipe.
Cake pops are pretty much round mini cupcakes!

What I used;
2 medium eggs, slightly whisked.
4oz butter,
4oz sugar,
4oz self raising flour.

To decorate;
Sprinkles.

Pre heat the oven to 180*c
Mix together the butter and sugar,
then gradually add the slight whisked egg until nice and smooth.
Once smooth fold in the flour.

Pour the batter into the mould and place in the pre heated oven for 10 - 15 minutes.
As the cake pop moulds only have 4 sections I ended up having to do this 3x.
It wasn't much of an issue though as they cooked so quickly!

Whilst the Cake pops were cooling down, I started melting down the chocolate.
One of the best ways to melt chocolate is to place a bowl over boiling water and keep stirring until smooth.
By the time the chocolate was all melted the cakes had cooled and were ready to be decorated.

I pour the chocolate over and then Rupert took charge of the sprinkles!
We then placed them in the fridge for half an hour.

The end result was pretty amazing!
We'd never made cake pops before but they went down so well, they'll be definitely be top of our baking list!

Ru had first dibs and as you can tell by his face, they were pretty tasty!
