Food Review || Bexleyheath Marriott Hotel

Last Saturday I was invited along to the Bexleyheath Marriott Hotel to try out their new bar menu.
The thought of delicious food and child free time filled me with joy!

Our table was booked for 1pm, it didn't take us too long to get to Bexleyheath from Minster so we arrived earlier than we thought we would, so we had a bit of a look around and were very impressed with the hotel and its lay out.
We peeked in at the Copper restaurant and we suitably impressed.

We headed to the bar and were greeted by Simona who led us to our table.

I had gone over the menu before and thought I knew what I was going to have, but once sat down that all went out the window and I struggled to pick something as it all sounded lovely.

We were served by Simona and Tamas.

To keep me refreshed whilst deciding I had an Elderflower Virgin Mojito.

It was as refreshing as it looks.

Jon already knew what he wanted and he didn't need any more time to look at the menu.

We decided to start with some Barbers cheddar Nachos and to quote Jon "They were the nicest / poshest nacho's that have ever passed his lips!"
They were pretty amazing, and there was not a crumb left once we were finished with them.

For our mains I went with the Grilled polenta with Jerusalem artichokes, crispy courgettes with pesto, Jon went with 220g Dry-aged Sirloin steak Grilled tomato, mushroom and fries.

My meal was so much better than I thought it was going to be and Jon said his steak was cooked to perfection.
I ordered a side of fries with mine, thinking I would need them, but I hardly touched them as they were completely not needed.
Jon didn't want to see them go to waste and happily munched on them once his were finished.
They were light, fluffy and super crunchy, just like biting into a crispy cloud!

The service was amazing and the staff were so friendly, there really was nothing bad about our experience in the lounge bar, everything from the staff to the atmosphere was just spot on!

When it came for desserts Tamas recommended his favourite - Raspberry meringue with Vanilla cream and white chocolate, it sounded amazing so I just had to give it ago, Jon went with the Chocolate mousse and Butter biscuit.

Both were finished within minutes of being laid in front of us.

The presentation of the food was beautiful and it was a joy to the eyes as well as the taste buds.
They say you eat with your eyes, well the chef of the Bexleyheath Marriott takes that right into consideration when presenting his food.

As my brother would say .... there was a lot of love on our plates!

As I enjoyed my first drink so much I wanted to try the other mock-tail on the menu which was

Black Tea Punch.
Black Tea, Pineapple, Orange, Lime, Soda.

Out of the two I loved the Elderflower Virgin Mojito the most as it was just so refreshing, but this Black Tea Punch was still filled to the brim with flavour, and would be perfect on a hot day in the garden.
I'm going to try and re-create it next week during the 'heat wave' that's meant to be coming.

We had some amazing food, we were served by friendly and caring staff and we both had a lovely time just the two of us.

Something we hardly ever do as we don't often think we should take some time out from being parents to just enjoy each other.

I think its important for a parents to make sure they take the time to spend with their partner away from the kids.
Being parents can be very stressful at times and stepping back to relax really does do you the world of good.

We both left the Marriott feeling full, happy and like we could take on the world, just because we'd had a few hours away from the kids and spent time as a couple.

Thank you for having us!
