Book Review || Captain Pug - The Dog Who Sailed The Seas

Pug is going on a seafaring adventure.
He's had jam tarts for breakfast.
He's wearing a smart sailor suit.
There's just one problem.
Pug is afraid of the water!

Written by Laura James worked on projects including Veronica Guerin and Slumdog Millionaire before signing herself up for Bath Spa's MA in Writing for Young People. Her love of all things nautical comes from her dad, a retired naval officer, and the adventures of Pug are based on the antics of her own very silly dog, Brian. Laura lives in Bath.

Illustrated by Églantine Ceulemans works in an intuitive way combining humour and sensitivity. She has been published in France but this is Eg's first book with Bloomsbury. Eg lives in Lyon, France.

Noah has a thing for Pugs ever since learning his favourite YouTuber has two, so when Captain Pug turned up he was keen to get reading.

Pug and his freckled companion Lady Miranda live at No 10 The Crescent.
They have a lovely lady named Wendy who does everything inside the house, like bring them yummy jam tarts for breakfast, and two running footmen Liam and Will who do everything for them outside of No 10 The Crescent.

Lady Miranda and Pug set off to a birthday party on the boating lake, Pug dressed to the nines in a snazzy Captains outfit.

Things take an unexpected turn once they arrive.
Will Pug earn his Captain title?
Will Lady Miranda ever find her Puggykins?
Will Pug ever over come his fear of the water?

Noah really enjoyed reading Captain Pug, it only took him a few days to read it to me.
It was a nice and easy read, he needed no extra help from myself and if I wasn't around, he'd happily read on so he could find out what was going to happen.

A sure sign a story is awesome - Finding it too hard to put the book down.

He has already told me he wants to buy the next book - Cowboy Pug which is out in January 2017!!

Noah gives Captain Pug 10/10 and a double thumbs up.

You can buy a copy from Amazon for only £5.99

**I was sent the book for free, in return for an honest review. All thoughts are my own**
