Mother's Day Flowers || Flowerstudioshop Review

Mother's Day  is on Sunday.
Stuck with what to get for the number one woman in your life?

Flowers are always a winner in my eyes!
Not just any old flowers mind you, you want to look like you've actually put some effort into thinking about the perfect gift!

When looking at a flower delivery service you want a website that is easy to navigate, someone friendly on the other end of the phone/Email for help if needed and mainly plenty of choice!

www.flowerstudioshop.co.uk/ offers all those and wont leave you feeling disappointed.

They currently have a beautiful range Mother's Day flowers for any budget.

I was very kindly sent Eves Vintage Rose Bouquet £39.99 to review.

The price may seem a little shocking but I really think they are worth the money.

You get the Vase sent along with the flowers and flower food, along with instructions of how to care for your flowers to get the most from them!

Everything is packaged nicely so there is no worry the vase is going to turn up smashed or the flowers broken.

As you can see from the photos, my bouquet was absolutely stunning!
They smelt devine too.

Sure to make your Mother's Day gift the best ever!

I'm still really impressed with how beautiful my bouquet was and how long they lasted!

I love that you get a Vase to suit the bouquet.
You won't have to worry about them not looking their best or not having a case that they'll fit into.

The  www.flowerstudioshop.co.uk/ are currently giving you 15% off any Mother's Day bouquet when you enter MUM15 at the checkout.

I'll be using the Flower Studio to treat my mum this Sunday, she deserves to have a beautiful bouquet for creating such an amazing daughter ;)

Under 1 Roof || A Kids Urban Oasis

Under1Roof officially opened yesterday 27th Feb 2016!
Under1Roof is based at Berkeley Homes' Royal Arsenal Riverside in Woolwich.

What's there?

 Children's theatre,
 Large play café,
Sensory Room,
Pre school soft play studio,
Messy play room,
Children's only hair salon,
London themed  retail village,
Children's well-being and therapy room,
Music room,
Conference room,
Co-working space and networking room and,
84 place Nursery!!

It's a concept yet to be found elsewhere in the UK for 0-11 year olds!

The plans and possibilities for the centre are endless. Under 1 Roof is a one stop shop - providing services for all the family and minimising the shuttling between classes and events that many parents give their time to. A full schedule of activities is programmed seven days a week with themed events and children's shows every weekend.
An extensive education programme is in place for schools to come and use the facilities and Under 1 Roof will be proud to host its own Kids Council once a month to make sure the really important people are involved in key decisions.
The nursery children will have access to all the bespoke provision on site ensuring no two days at nursery will be the same!

Under 1 Roof was founded by three close friends, all of whom already run their own established children's businesses.

Anne-Marie Martin the owner of Diddi Dance, preschool dance specialists, now owns 41 franchises across the UK. She is a mum to Bobby and Lily and sits on the board of many advisory panels into franchises and children's activity standards.

Laura Sydonie runs Theatre Tots, early years drama specialists, with branches in the UK, USA and China. Laura has three boys, Jack, Tobias and Sidney and also works as an educational consultant and writer - she is currently working on a commission for Shakespeare 400 for The National Archives of Great Britain.

Matt Milchard is the director of Pyramid and has a martial arts gym onsite at Under 1 Roof, which will run classes for parents and children. He is a dad to Oliver and India and also runs Just Kids Parties, whose clients includes Bank of America, Mattel and Variety Club Children's charity.

"Under 1 Roof will be a unique centre for families and children based in South East London. Time is precious and parents can often have to spend time going from one place to the next to cater for the needs of their child. We understand those needs and have created an environment ideal for children, which will take the strain away from parents."
Anne-Marie Martin

We were very kindly invited along to the press launch. I took the wildlings, Ru and Jon along. We drove from Sheerness and it only took an hour - no time at all when it takes longer to fuss around with the trains.

We were greeted at the reception by very friendly staff, who were more than happy to show us straight through to where we needed to be.
They all interacted with the boys beautifully which I know people assume kids environment staff should, but I can tell you I've been to many soft play places that are run by non child friendly people.
They made the effort to make the boys feel right at home.

Anne-Marie, Laura and Matt then showed us round the building and the nursery!

Even with the builders still adding the finishing touches you could tell that the place was going to amazing and very popular!

We checked out the Children's hairdressers first and all the boys loved the car seats, Ru didn't want to leave and kicked up a right fuss.

On to the beautifully set out messy play room, which had all different messy play activities set out on different tables, so something to suit every child's mood.

When I think of soft plays I automatically think of a big dirty caged area where snotty children are bound to push your precious angel over, Under 1 Roof oozes class and somewhere you'd happily skip along to with the kids!

Sticking with the London theme, the soft play studio was bright and cheerful, the boys absolutely loved it!
They loved it so much they stayed in their with Jon whilst I finished off the tour.

Just looking around you can tell how much effort has gone into this place to make it what it is!

Anne-Marie and Laura were beaming with joy as they showed us around, and if I was them I would be too.
Its absolutely an amazing place!

We were shown around the Day Nursery and the Theatre.
Both of which were just as spectacular as everything else!

The Theatre ::
Specialising in children's theatre, we have flexible seating and stage area, running a full timetable of shows.  With state of the art audio and lighting, our theatre houses weekly sessions, drama workshops and shows allowing children to feed their imaginations and perform to their full potential.

We will be holding Autism Friendly Movie Days, with special attention to volume and light, which will be clearly marked on the timetable.

The little details really stuck out to me, such as the low sounding hand dryers in the toilets just show they didn't just chuck any old fitting in, they really gave it their all to make sure it was the very, very best!
I know that's probably a strange thing to really like but the twins hate with a passion hand dryers and Will do anything not to go near them. So from experience I know those will be a big hit!
Well done guys :)

Once we had seen all of the downstairs we were then taken up to the music room and the Sensory room.

The sensory room just blew me away,
Words fail me at how wonderful this room was.
I've been searching for sensory rooms around where we live as I think Ru would really benefit from spending time in one.
Seeing him in this sensory room as given me the kick up the bum to get that hunt on!
Ru loved it!

"Our sensory room is an inclusive and accessible centre for all, primarily for children with special educational needs.  With high quality equipment and fully trained staff, the sensory room will benefit many families in the surrounding area.  Whether you are a user of our facilities or an SEN provider, the U1R sensory room will have what you need.
Designed from scratch following advice from a specialist O.T, the sensory equipment is exactly what children, with a range of needs, will enjoy."

I highly recommend going along and seeing how great Under 1 Roof is for yourself.
I shall be going to go back with the boys to get the full experience and maybe even a haircut for the crazy trio!

Opening times: Weekdays 9am-6pm / Weekends 9am-5pm
Unit 9, The IO Centre,
Skeffington Street,
Royal Arsenal Riverside,
London,
SE18 6SR

#MySundayPhoto || Sensory Fun

On Friday the mini's, Jon and myself went along to the press launch of Under1Roof.

Ru really loved the sensory room!

I've been trying to find a place with a great sensory room for him around where we live but as of yet i haven't.

Seeing him in the room here makes me even more determined to find one.

So if any of you lovely people are in the Kent area and know of one please let me know.

Happy Sunday X

Sport Relief || Get Your Jumping Shoes On!

The Nation Goes Skipping Mad For Sport Relief #SureSkipathon is aiming to get Brits donating one million skips

• Skipping is one of the happiest sports as two thirds of Brits find it impossible to skip without a smile on their face (62 per cent)

• Katherine Jenkins, is one of the first celebrities to showcase her skipping prowess to inspire Brits to donate their skips to mark the launch of the Sure Skipathon for Sport Relief

The nation is going skipping mad for Sport Relief.  As part of the Sure Skipathon, Brits are being asked to donate one million skips to unlock a £200,000 donation to Sport Relief.

Katherine Jenkins, OBE, is one of the first celebrities to take up the challenge, after being shown the ropes at the re-named Skipadilly Circus and donating the first skip for Sport Relief. She says; "I’m a big fan of skipping to keep fit and I make sure it’s always incorporated into my weekly routine. Skipping is one of the most fun, cheap and effective exercises you can do. When you skip, you can’t help but smile! The Sure Skipathon for Sport Relief is a great incentive to get moving for a fantastic cause.”

Katherine, comments; “I have a busy schedule so I incorporate short and intense workouts into my weekly routine. I love skipping as it is one of the most fun, cheap and effective exercises you can do and always puts a smile on my face! Skipping burns more than 10 calories a minute while strengthening your legs, shoulders & arms and can be done virtually anywhere.”

With two thirds (62%) of the nation finding it impossible to skip without a smile on their face, a host of celebrities including Katy Perry, Justin Bieber and Victoria Beckham jumping on the trend and its physical and mental benefits well documented, skipping is having a resurgence as the hottest fitness trend.

When it comes to the benefits of skipping, over three quarters (77 per cent) recognise that it is good for health and wellbeing, with 83 per cent of those polled admitting that the exercise is something that they would like to do more of.

Pro-skippers from The British Skipping Rope Association and Streets United, known for their show stopping skipping skills, have taken to iconic landmarks like Westminster Bridge and Abbey Road to get the nation skipping mad.

To learn the ropes yourself and take up the A-list exercise, follow these tips from the British Skipping Association:

Use the right length of rope. To check this, stand on your rope with both feet and hold the handles up. The perfect length rope will mean your hands are just under your armpits. As you get more confident you can shorten your rope

  • When you skip, always jump on the balls of your feet and keep your knees bent

  • When you are skipping, look ahead and when the rope gets to eye-level, jump!

  • Keep your arms bent and close to your body so you turn the rope with your wrists

  • Just make small jumps, you don't need to do huge ones to clear the rope – this saves you energy to keep skipping

  • If you want to skip for a good cause, no rope required, try out the Sure Skipathon, the first digital Skipathon in aid of Sport Relief

To take part in the Sure Skipathon and make a difference with your movement, all you need to do is grab your smart device, visit www.SureSkipathon.co.uk and follow the simple instructions to donate your skip.
You can even share the game on Facebook or Twitter with #SureSkipathon and get your friends to skip along with Sure for Sport Relief.

Camp Bestival || The Tudors Are Coming!!!!

   THE TUDORS ARE COMING TO
        CAMP BESTIVAL

Camp Bestival is just mere months away.
There is an absolutely amazing line up planned and today it was announced that the Terrific Tudors are coming along to join in the Bestival fun!!!

They've already announced a universally joyous array of astronutters including Fatboy Slim, Tears for Fears, Jess Glynne, Katy B, KT Tunstall, Squeeze, Arrested Development, Dick and Dom, Mr Tumble and many more who will be joining us at Space Camp Lulworth this July 28-31. And with a whole galaxy of space-based high jinx and cosmological fun on offer all weekend long, Team CB’s ever imaginative arts crew thought it would be a curious delight to look in the other direction and spend some historic times working with Historic Royal Palaces to get to know one of Britain’s most intriguing royal dynasties, the Tudors

Plus, we’ve got a stellar line-up of daytrip suggestions to make the most of Dorset’s rich historical heritage around your festi-holiday frolics this summer.

Camp Bestival’s own celestial sovereign, Rob da Bank says: “So, this has nothing to do with Outer Space but everything to do with the glorious and sometimes a bit bloody and gory history of the United Kingdom. Bizarrely, having DJed at a few Royal Palaces lately, we felt it would be good to bring some of that history to Lulworth Castle, a location not exactly lacking in stories itself. So from Tudor crossbow to cookery and a good old fashioned dressing up tent, naturally, I’m looking forward to unleashing my inner Henry VIII and whizzing back in time”.

Yes, indeed. This summer, celebrate Henry VIII's arrival at Camp Bestival from Hampton Court Palace with the unmissable Tudors on Tour. Presented by independent charity Historic Royal Palaces, this ‘festival within a festival’ will allow you to step into a living Tudor world. Bringing to life the magnificence and splendour of the Tudor court through a spectacular mix of theatre, games, and live craft demonstrations.
With something for the whole family, you’ll be able to demonstrate your importance and strut your stuff in the height of 16th century fashion in the Tudor Costume Tent. You can wield a deadly weapon and test your aim as you have a go with a cross-bow; and travel back to 1540 and meet Henry VIII in The King’s Pavilion. Plus, you can find out what the Tudors knew about space, learn how to be the perfect courtier and see what you think of his new Queen (and fifth wife) Catherine Howard.

You’ll also be able to see the skills of the master crafts-people and stonemasons who built and maintained palaces as magnificent as Hampton Court and the Tower of London (and a little bit later, our own wonderland, Lulworth Castle) and dip your own candle to help bring light to the palace. Check out the Great Harry Theatre Show and discover how Henry VIII came to be King in a hilarious play for the whole family. Join in a Tudor Scratch Performance and take your chance to tread the boards. Or sit back and relax while you hear some of the King’s favourite stories.
Come and join the team who have brought the Hampton Court Palace kitchen to life and marvel at Tudor cooking as they roast beef for the King in front of their roaring fire and discover what life was like cooking for King Henry VIII. And don’t miss the chance to find out about Tudor games and play them yourself. See how high you can get on the leader board!
And, while we’re on an enjoying antiquity tip, we’ve put together a list of Dorset’s own historical highs, all close enough to Lulworth to make a day or two of it, before you head into space with us, or even when you’re touching down on the way home. There’s almost an eternity full of landmarks and attractions to keep you busy including Dinosaurland Fossil Museum, Cerne Abbas Giant, Hambledon Hill, Maiden Castle, Maumbury Rings, Roman Town House, Sturminster Newton Mill, Corfe Castle, Portland Castle, Sherbourne Castle, Highcliffe Castle, Swanage Railway and Dorset County Museum.

Book Review || The Shadow Keeper

The Shadow Keeper by Abi Elphinstone.

Abi Elphinstone grew up in Scotland where she spent most of her childhood building dens, hiding in tree houses and running wild across highland glens. After being coaxed out of her tree house, she studied English at Bristol University and then worked as a teacher in Africa, Berkshire and London.

The Shadow Keeper is Abi's second book, her first being The Dreamsnatcher.
The Shadow Keeper picks up right from where The Dreamsnatcher ended.

Moll, Gryff, Sid and Alfie continue their adventures in a secret cove down by the sea. There are codes to crack, secrets to unravel and smugglers and witch doctors to battle past if the Tribe want to find the second Amulet of Truth and fulfil the Bone Murmur's prophecy.
.

Noah and myself both love a bit of a dark magical story to get stuck into and The Shadow Keeper really hit the spot!

I read the book myself first as Noah said he'd like to read it by himself at bedtime. It's been such a lovely change to see him interested in a book rather than this PlayStation.
He's still reading but every night before bed he goes to sleep after excitingly telling me about what has just happened in the book

I loved the drama and the tension that the book brought.
It's a book that you won't want to put down!

It was lovely too feel the friends bonds knit together even more tightly as they faced difficult situations together.

I shall be keeping my fingers crossed the story doesn't end there!

Available to buy 25th February

What others are saying about the book ....
'Reminded me of the very best of the Harry Potter books' Piers Torday, author of The Last Wild
'A thrillingly wild adventure - bold, breathless and beautifully told' Jonathan Stroud
'No one does edge-of-seat action like Abi Elphinstone' Emma Carroll

Product Review || Paddy's Bathroom Range

I'm sure you're all aware of Ella's Kitchen, but have you met her brother?

Paddy?!?!

Paddy now his very own range of funky bath products!

Over at Paddy's Bathroom they only use mild and gentle ingredients to make natural soaps that are soft on the skin and sting free for the eyes!

We were very kindly sent the whole range to try out!

I love that they are bold and bright, sure to bring fun to any bathroom.

The boys all got excited when they saw the bathroom filled with new goodies for them to try!
The packaging is both appealing to both boys and girls and kids of all ages!

The Range :

*Bubbly stuff smells like tangy tangerines - bubble bath (this was my favourite)
*Stuff for soft hair smells like squeaky clean lemons - everyday light non greasy conditioner
*Stuff for shiny hair smells like squeezy lemons - everyday gentle cleaning shampoo
*Stuff for hands smells like squeaky clean lemons
*Squirty stuff smells like juicy Pineapples - foaming hair and body wash (this was Noah's favourite)
*Squirty stuff smells like squishy mangos - foaming hair and body wash (the Wildlings favourite)
*Foamy stuff smells like Rosy apples - foaming hair and body wash.

We have been using Paddy's for well over a month now and still have lots left, and none of the boys have had skin irritations! (Always a worry for when we use new bath products)

The boys all loved using the foaming washes, as it helped them to be able to wash themselves.
The foaming hand wash has been a big hit for me, its actually encouraged all of the boys to actually wash their hands after going to the toilet.....yes they are dirty little beasties and usually miss that part out!

Paddy's Bathroom definitely brought fun into our bathroom!

Have you tried any Paddy's products yet?
www.paddysbathroom.com

social - facebook, Twitter, Instagram & YouTube

Not only is Paddy's bathroom fun for the kids but a donation from every sale goes towards their Dropbuydrop programme - helping kids in Rwanda get access to clean, safe water!!

Our rainforest from the weekend box

Storm trooper biscuits,

Rave-A-Roo || Review

On Saturday I headed off to London with the Wildlings and Noah.

We met up with my sister in Law to be  Kelly and my nieces Isla and Esme in Elephant and Castle.

We were both there at 12 but because we weren't aware there was a station on both sides of the road it took us half an hour to find each other!

We were in London for an exciting event ..... One me and Kelly were probably more excited about than the kids.

Having spent much of my late teens / early twenties raving I was more than eager to get in and have a dance.

Rave•A•Roo is a family friendly rave that was hosted in the iconic Ministry of Sound nightclub.

There was a bar for the adults,
A Chill out room with soft play for the younger ones,
Uv tattoo station,
Neon craft station
Rave room with DJs!
Inflatables to play with and Ravers handing out free glow sticks!!

I'm sure we came away with more that we should have as Oscar kept finding the women and asking for more.

Noah and Isla loved the  UV tattoo station, having spent the morning donning himself in WWE tattoos I'm surprised Noah even had any room left for more tattoos, but he managed to get two, and he was very pleased with them and didn't stop showing them off all day!

The twins loved the soft play chill out room much to my annoyance as they didn't like the rave room, it was a bit too noisey for them.

However I did manage to get a bit of a boogie with Kelly but the twins soon dragged me out.
Not sure whether it was my dancing or the noise!

All the kids loved the Neon craft table and they loved making random creations!

Somehow Esme managed to come away with a big ball of multi coloured modelling clay that she wouldn't let go of!

Just before the end of the Rave there was a dance set from Go! Go! Go! As seen on Nick JR.

Much to my excitement the boys actually stayed and watched with out moaning about it being too loud!
Isla was right at the front dancing along.

I enjoyed an afternoon glass of prosecco (afternoon drinking is always a win) and a mini dance!!
I had a whale of a time!

Even though the kids weren't fans of the rave room they all had a great time and none of them wanted to leave!!

All in all everyone had a great time!

#MySundayPhoto || Family

We had a lovely visit from my Great Aunt and Uncle this week.

It was really lovely to see them.
Normally we only ever see them at Christmas or special family events.

The boys were amazingly behaved which meant we were able to have tea and cake in peace and not have to contend with their usual noise.

It was lovely to have a catch up and for them to see our new (year old) house!

My Great Aunt is the only surviving sister out of 4.
I love that I still have a connection to my Gran through her.

These lovely Roses were from them!

Mummy Time || Mini Spa Break

My friend Jenny and I decided that for our 30ths we'd go away on a mini spa break.

Searching the Internet we found a great deal for a Spa break at the Ashford International!

£109 for one 50 minute treatment in the Spa.
Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.
Over night stay and full use of the leisure facilities.

This would be the first time I've been away from the boys other than hospital stays!

From the moment we stepped inside the hotel we were impressed.
The decor was lovely and the staff were very friendly!

We booked in early and headed to our room to unpack!

The Room::

I had a detox package - as part of that I got a detox smoothie.

So Once we'd unpacked we headed off to the Quench Bar to collect my smoothie.

It had green tea, honey, lemon and cucumber. It was ok but I didn't manage to drink all of it.

Our Spa treatments were at 3 o'clock, so after chilling in our room for half an hour we donned our gowns and headed off to the relaxation room

The Relaxation Room::

It was lovely and warm and very chilled.
The music and smells were enough to send you off to sleep.

My treatment consisted of an AMAZING back massage, a body mud pack and being wrapped up in a plastic sheet whilst I had my first ever head massage..... Pure Heaven!!!

Jenny and I both met outside the relaxation room and headed off to the pool area.

We used the steam room then had a nice swim in the lovely pool.

I haven't been swimming properly for years. It really brought back my love for it and it's something I'm definitely going to start doing once a week.
After a good few laps we jumped into the jacuzzi before heading back to the room to get ready for dinner.

We decided to have some pre dinner drinks, safe to say we entered the restaurant giggling with a rosey glow!

For dinner I had a chicken dish followed by a white chocolate pudding!

It was very yummy and again the staff were great.

We were pretty tired so went to bed early.
I woke the next day feeling refreshed and relaxed.

After breakfast we headed off to the steam room.
Before the clock hands had struck 10am we had been in the steam room, sauna, jacuzzi and done a good few lengths of the pool!

We had to check our of our room at 11am and had a pedicure booked for 12.
We had a coffee in the quench bar whilst we waited.

After we'd had our lovely pedicure & foot massage we went off to lunch which was a buffet.

We made full use of the hotel and enjoyed every moment of it!!!

We shall definitely be visiting again!!

The boys had fun with Jon and I actually didn't miss them as much as I thought I would!
Getting away for a night is great for distressing and refreshing!
I came back home ready to parent on a whole new level!
