The Nonsense Show • Book Review •

Ducks growing out of bananas?
A mouse catching a cat?
What’s wrong with this book from the creator of The Very Hungry Caterpillar?

Welcome, friends!
Don't be slow.
Step right up to
The Nonsense Show!

Written by Eric Carle
Eric Carle is one of the best-known and loved of picture book creators. His work is immediately recognisable through his vibrant use of colour and tissue-paper collage. Eric Carle's most famous book is, of course, The Very Hungry Caterpillar.
I have always favoured The Hungry Caterpillar as I remember it from my childhood and it was Noah's first ever book!
So when I was asked to review The Nonsense Show I eagerly said yes.

This book is completely bonkers!
A duck with feet, a mouse chasing a cat a rabbit pulling a man out of a magic hat.
It doesn't have to make sense it's just a bit of nonsense!

The boys loved the illustrations, they were beside themselves giggling away, it didn't matter that the book made no sense they loved it!

I have spotted them going through the book themselves and picking out the funniest looking picture!

I think that is one of the books great advantage, that you don't need to read the words to understand what's going on, the illustrations really show.
Great for little wildlings who can't read yet!

In this book, nonsense and surrealism combine to spark creativity and imagination. What's true? What's impossible? What's absolutely absurd?
I love that the book is introducing children into different sorts of art and that its ok to use your imagination!
