So I've decided to give Henna ago!
It's not for the faint hearted.
It is messy
It takes a lot longer than a bog standard box dye!
There's more prep than your normal box dye.
You have to melt the Henna a bain-marie
Until it resembles a melted chocolate consistency.
I'm not sure I melted mine enough as it was harder to spread on to my hair that I thought it would be.
I've read some reviews about it shelling awful but I have to say I had no issues with it and preferred it over a normal box dye!
Taking 4 hours isn't ideal, specially being a mum, But hey ho all in the name of beauty!
Normally I would try and buy the dye that takes the least time and whack it on whilst the boys are in bed.
I know that the ones that take next to no time are full if crap and are no good for my hair, and leave it feeling like straw.
I feel a much better knowing that as well as staining my hair hopefully a brown colour it is also treating it to some goodness!
I'll be rather smug if the henna actually takes to my hair!
If you're not going anywhere it's not too bad, as once it's on you can just go about doing your usual thing.
Just rocking the cling film and towel look!
Here is my before shot -
Afterwards :
So it's changed the colour to a lovely dark brown with some red tinges - actually really like it.
But....
My hair doesn't feel any better, possibly worse, :(
Someone just said they do there's the following day and then it feels better. So maybe I'll give that ago.
I'll defiantly stick to henna and will be doing it again.
Here are my after shots -
Do you use Henna? Do you have any tips for me?
